Our Story…
The Mothers That Make Us ™ was inspired after my deep realization that I am a product of my mother. Not just physically, but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
I am a product of my mother, and so are we all.
During the course of 9 months (and sometimes less) we are knit together in the belly of the matriarchy—stitches placed one by one with little direct effort or action. And in this process we begin our first means of bonding, we experience our first senses (hearing mother’s voice), and we begin to make sense of the world through the filter that our mother communicates it’s happenings.
At the 9 month mark, we are projected into the world through the portal of her body, and as this space opens the human bio field quite literally splits in 2, and our first individual self is established.
We become a product of our mother in the first degree. And from that point forward we will be shaped by the way she nurtures us, knows us, and doesn’t.
Some people know their mother.
Some people don’t.
And some people think they know her but only know a small part of the vastness she is.
This magazine is a collection of stories from the mothers and their children, highlighting the profound nature of mothering and its momentous position in the animal kingdom.
